I pulled the leader out to check the tippet and the line to leader butt connection then put the Reel away; everything seemed fine with the conditions I was checking on..
Took it back out a few hours later to change the tippet because I'd learned we would need a finer X than I had on.
Found the tippet was now buried under the line, along side the inner side of the spool ... must have happened when i was rewinding it to put it away.
Not the 1st time I've had this happen
Sometimes the end portion of the Tippet can be pulled out with tweezers etc but more usually requires the spool be removed from the frame and the Line peeled off until the Tippet section is finally freed up. Kind of like a "Birds Nest" on a bait caster but it looks neat and tidy on the surface, until you try to find the end of the tippet material and then discover it is buried.
Note: the Tippet is below the line, on the side of the spool, NOT entangled in the gearing or over the side of the spool between the spool and the frame.
Not a problem with the Reel ... it is "Operator Error"
but I
can't figure out what causes it.
Ever happen to you?
