What city is the building in my avatar located in? (A certain board member and rod builder need not reply.)
While not a fishing destination per se, this city is an intermediate stop on the way to much excellent fishing.

As a sort of geographer I thought it would be good to have a little pop quiz for the end of the week.

Charles, using the internet to answering your quiz is cheating.
You
will remain after school and clean the forum.

SpruceG,
You didn't say we had to have been there! "Clean the forum?." Now that would be an interesting task that sometimes is a full-time job for multiple moderators. Cleaning reels and lines is more manageable. Charlie |

spruce grouse wrote: It's really none of my business, of course. But when has that ever been a deterrent? Am I misremembering, Spruce? Didn't you once use a similar tactic to stiiff Cloozoe in one of his quizzes? I know I did in one he concocted for baseball, but I figured--what the hell, it's what you do to a Yankee fan. Is this a case of the pigeons coming back to roost, the pot calling the kettle, the whoops and on my own petard, or just my faulty memory? |

Ok, pretty funny using the Net to find the first one. How about this? What is it (don't be crude) and where is it? I had to doctor it up a bit because
it had some lettering on it.
No fair using the Internet.........

Somewhere in Georgia, on I-85. I always think, "Eat a Peach"...
Life is an open book test, you can always "Look it up", but you get more points for just knowin'... Later, Andrew

Actually I think the peach is in South Carolina between Greenville and Charlotte. I have passed it a few times and they even have Peach Nehi on offer.

"A common sight across the Georgia countryside are peach silos; usually located in large fields they are not easily spotted until the Fall when, after
harvest, the peach bushes are mowed back to ground level in preparation for next year's crop."*
*extracted from the 2007 edition of the De Kalb County Visitors' Guide What DrLogik, with his military background, isn't revealing to us is that many of these silos are actually camouflaged ICBM sites, as are some of the Pecan silos in S. Carolina and the Orange silos in Florida. Ken A Curmudgeon is just an Old Fart with outlet malfunction. You'd be grumpy, too. |

You guys have thelocation right. It's the Gafney Peach in Gafney, South Carolina. It's about 40 minutes from Charlotte on I85. Before it got its
newer paint job it looked pretty sad for a long time.
