I know what you mean the Parks rods, I have his 7613, he sure makes a nice rod.

I only have three boo rods, so it's easy.

From left to right: Orvis Superfine (7ft 2/2 #4), L.C. Parks (7.6ft 3/2 #4/5), Summers 275 (7.6ft 2/2 #5)
The most used is the L.C. Parks (Dickerson 7615 clone, 7.6ft 3/2 #4/5).
Superb all round rod. It does dry fly, double bead head weighted nymph rig, hopper-dropper rig. Haven't tried streamers yet.

At the moment I use four most often but in no particular order since it depends on the river and my inclination for the day:
1). early Orvis Battenkill, 8 ft, 16/10 ferrules, 5 wt
2). early Orvis Battenkill, 8.5, 17/11 ferrules, 5/6 wt
3). Thramer DxSB, 8 ft, 16 ferrule, 5 wt
4). Edwards, Bristol, 8.5 ft, 5/6 wt

Its been the same in the Uk high water for all of August and still continuing today 3^rd September

Well, right now, my rod of most common use is not my rod of choice. Living on the White River in Arkansas and considering the high water and seemingly non stop rains we've had this year, I'm fishing mostly big water, so my most commonly used rod is my 8' 6 wt. Now, if I had my choice, I'd probably be somewhere that the water was lower and smaller and would be doing combat with either my 7' 4 wt or my 7'6" 5 wt, but for now, the 8'er for a 6 is just going to...

I'm fortunate to have enough rods to fill all my fishing needs (so far.. ). They range from a 6' 3" 4wt midge to an 8' 6" 7/8 wt light salmon/steelhead rod with enough variety in weights and lengths in between to fit most circumstances or whims of the day. But when my wife offered to get me a custom rod from a premier modern builder as a retirement gift I didn't hesitate on...

the first rod i grab is my wright mcgill granger champion 8642. both tips a bit short but throws a 6 wt with authority. second to that is an edwards? (discussed here previously) 8.5 foot for smaller fish and smaller streams. that may change next year since my winter project will be an 8040 from a dennis stone hollowbuilt blank.

It is interesting to look back a couple years and see the "trend" I have followed. It seems as though I always gravitate towards longer rods. I tend to fish one rod about 90-95% of the time each season. Four years ago I used a 8'6" 7 wt. Howells. Three years ago I used a Goodwin Victory 9053 6 1/4 oz. 7 wt. , I screwed up my entire thumb including the tendons up into my wrist casting this rod all season (big, fast water, lots of casts). I agree with Orange Caddis about the Dave Kenney rods. My favorites are his F1 (7 1/2' 4wt) and H1 (8' 5wt). These are the only 2 I own but I have cast many others and fished with some others as well, and every one of them is a masterpiece. Although I have some other makes (a couple of Grangers especially) that I'm profoundly fond of, the F1 and H1 are the ones I usually reach for. They're beautiful, both powerful and sweetly delicate, and just plain cast where I look....

As of now, it is a Lamiglas Honey 7.5' 4wt glass, but I do not currently have a cane rod, I am looking for a nice light bass rod an 8.5' 5/6 would be nice....

Well, before last Thursday anyway, the top three rods I use most will be for small stream use only. I use my favorite of all time, a PHY made Driggs blank, finished out by the "Fly Factory" in the UP some time in the 70's, next would be a nice little FE Thomas 6'-8" 3wt that is great for those small brookies in mid summer low water situations, and then there's a PHY MM 5wt that a friend made for me, that's a great rod for early season and hex hatches, as well as...
