Just got one off the Bay. Took it out in the back yard and casted it with a DT5 SA Supreme II. Wow. What a nice smooth casting rod. $104.00. What a nice
bargain. This is my first 81/2' rod. I bought it to fish at Frenchman's Pond (Uncle's). It won't look like much next to Woody's Payne or
Leonard but it'll do.

A few earlier threads dealt with this - the 323 in a 8/3/2 was available ( I cannot remember the source) and while rare are great all purpose dry fly rods. I
lucked into one a few years back - refinished. A great versatile 5-6 weight.

Great buy, and you will love it. I too have found that this rod casts a Cortland Peach DT5 very nicely.

I concur with Bulldog and Greendrake II. I like mine with a Cortland 444, DT5F (Peach) or SYLK. I paid twice what you did with original sock and aluminum
tube, and feel that I got a bargain.

I've got to agree 100% with Bulldogs assessment on this model.I believe the 8 1/2' 323 is the best dry fly rod that South Bend put out and the price
was definately a steal. It's too bad that they didn't offer this model in an 8'er as well.South Bend as a whole does not get the credit they deserve
as they put out some very nice models.

You got that rod for much, much less than its value.
Congratulations, you bought one of the best all-around 5-wt. trout rods ever made.
