After reading the many silk line threads here I decided to take the plunge and order my first silk. I have read several posts that stated be careful regarding
the line weight. Often times the advertised line weight was a little on the heavy side. A couple of dealers names popped up as dealers who weigh the lines
before sending. I ordered a DT 4 line from one of those dealers and asked for the heaviest 4 weight that he had. I received the line and started going through
the massaging process...

Phoenix and Thebaults are typically on the light side. e.g. a DT5 is a bit light for your average DT5 rod. which is why I normally use the Dts (silk) for the
rods I normally fish with WFs (plastic). E.g. I fish my Jennings 8ft #4 with either a DT4 or WF5 plastic but certainly with a DT5 Phoenix silk. that
combination is magic and just shoots out like crazy.

Personally I find that the Thebault silk lines are lighter and don't load as well as the Phoenix lines. As a result, when I decided to try a Terenzio
synthetic silk line I purchased a 4 1/2 weight DT and it loads 4 weight rods quite nicely. I recently got a 4 1/2 WF Busse silk line but have not yet loaded
it on a reel.

PM me, I am very interested in the line. In the mean time, I will gather all the info I have and use regarding matching lines to rods. I can email them to
you. They have helped me build shooting headings from Tungsten core, for about $20 per line, not the $65 you pay for an "off-the-shelf" line...
I have issues with flyline manufacturers in general, but will keep that to myself, at least for now...

I have yet to buy any new silk, but will buy from...
