About 4 years ago or so, a boy (probably 10 years old at the time) was playing along the bank of a small creek in my home town. He saw what looked like a nickle partially stuck in the mud. When he pulled it out, what looked like a nickle turned out to be a Spanish coin dating back to the days when those crazy Spaniards were stomping through the wild and uncharted wilderness of what would become East Tennessee. That "nickle" brought over 3 grand. Some folks have all the luck....

Ya know I stopped picking up pennies 10 years or more ago
after I stopped to think that I'd have to bend over to the ground

Thanks Michael. I needed the help. Its usually the CI who picks on me for my poor spelling, grammar, etc. He was probably tempted on this issue but checked the Dictionary first.

I pick up all coins I see on the g round. I believe in prosperity of every kind and want to keep the energy flowing.
However, those stupid pennies have to go.

nickles are perfect for loosening and tightening the screw on my hardy bougle. I always carry one in my fishing bag or vest.

Round it down? Surely, you jest. We don't need to give anyone an excuse to increase prices. Get rid of the dollar coin. They're too heavy, and a lousy fit in a wallet.
Back in the Precambrian Era, when I was a kid, we would look for pennies on the several mile walk to the lake. If we found one, it was a lucky day, and we were going to catch fish.

Walking back from my mailbox today I chanced to spy a nickle on the ground. I had to ponder a moment or two whether or not to pick it up (I stopped picking up pennies long ago). Of all our coins I deem nickles to be the most useless. So I thought It might be amusing to have a poll about the usefulness of the various coin denominations. Which in your opinion is the most useless? Please comment on your reasoning. Since it cost more than a penny to make a penny, can they just be eliminated?
