jim doesn't make it up here, i imagine the fishing is just to good down his way. and it is a wee bit of a hike. but since most of the rivers in the norhteast are gonna be blown out, maybe the old men from no river might make it.
and jack, don't tell me what the second taper is. i'm dyin' with anticipation to see your new boyd.

put it on the calendar pete. it will be the first fishing weekend of the year, and it is a great time.
i'm usually pretty busy and don't get to play with as many rods as i would like to at the gym. but this one rod caught my eye so i walked over to the guy who owned it and asked to cast it. up close you could see the rod was a work of art. it was a 101. i had cast several 101 tapers and none of them really got me excited, but this one blew me away. afterwards, i went to my little...

My car poolies are busy and with the price of gas at better than $3.30 around here, I'm going to have to pass as it was not planned nor budgeted. If you are doing this annually as it appears, I'll stick it in my calender for next year. Sounds like a great time!

as far as other activities, pete,
ralph graves, the one man fly tying show will be performing at the baxter house from one to five.
dick smith will be tying march browns at the beaverkill angler. agnes van put's famous soups will be served at the museum somewhere between 10am and noon. the soup gets sucked down pretty quick but agnes has a soft spot for cane fisherman, so she will usually stash a couple of bowls for us. and yes luzerne, the two headed trout dinner at the...

Mike does a great job with the kids. I've been bringing my boys the past two years. If you have kids, it's a great chance for some excellent instruction and how can you pass up on tossing a line around with some great bamboo rods

come and join the us for our 3rd catskill cane revival in the Livingston Manor gymnasium, on saturday, april 5th, sponsored by the livingston manor rotary. we've had great times the last two years admiring and casting some classic and not so classic rods. paynes, leonards, dickerson's, and the occasional harry boyd rod have shown up here. you name it, we got it. and if we ain't got it, you bring it!
