thanks to the miracles of modern technology, most any of us modern makers can build you a rod with a Martha Marie taper in just about any length and line
weight you want. within reason. Just because the original was a 7&#39;6&quot; 6 wt doesn&#39;t mean yours has to be, tapers can be manipulated to retain
(almost) the same feel in different c9onfiguratioons. Length is probably the hardest thing to alter as a good deal of a rods feel is due to it&#39;s length, a
6&#39; rod won&#39;t... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Bob doesn&#39;t regularly build the MM model (or his version of it) because the demand is not there for a shorter 5/6, according to my discussions with him. 
People will fish the 275 with a 4 (or even a light 5) and 856 with a 5/6....... I think people like the MM name, but the Perfectionist is a better bet as a rod
to get......Bob is still taking orders, he&#39;s just not being real commital about delivery.  Pickard is a good maker and MI resident also.  Just have him
build his 764 with a... ]]></description>

made a wrong &quot;assumption&quot; that a Martha Marie would be similar to them.

From all I have learned by talking with Forum Members and a Maker, the &quot;MM&quot; is much more a Dry Fly action and tends to be more a 6wt than a 5wt .. at
least as I define things.

I just had Mike Patterson build me a MM..It will cast both a 5 and a 6..I cast it with a WF5, a Phoenix silk DT5 and a WF6. It handled them equally as well.
