This configuration rod isn't very common. Are there any good tapers, either older or newer, that have proven good to fish with. I like the size because
it packs well and seems to be a bit lighter than an 8ft and yet has extra length over a 7 1/2ft for bigger water, while short enough in tighter situations,
too.

have never built a Garrison taper, and wish to, so I am leaning towards the 193. How does this rod do for smaller stream fishing (not much line out, some
roll casting)? If not, any other suggestions? Thanks.

Does anyone know definitively if the Leonard 38H (7', 2/2, 4wt) taper is the same or significantly different from the model 48 (7', 3/2, 4wt) ?

Where do those differences appear, (and as I am not a rod builder) in simple terms if possible how should those differences affect each rods actions?
Leonard catalogs list the two rods quite differently, but they sure do "look" the same.
